Cape Shipping takes two Golden Ocean ships

The Andrianopoulos family and its Cape Shipping have emerged as the buyer of a pair of capes sold by John Fredriksen-controlled Golden Ocean.

According to brokers, the Greek owner, who is known for its asset plays, paid $23m per ship for the two scrubber-fitted Daehan-built vessels, Golden Feng and Golden Shui.

The 13- and 14-year-old bulkers will join another newcastlemax in Cape Shipping’s bulker arm.

Cape Shipping returned to the big bulker arena in 2020 when it added an ore carrier from Japanese owners NS United, the 230,00 dwt, 2007-built NSS Honesty

VesselsValue data on the Greek outfit lists 17 ships under its control, with the same number behind its fleet average. The fleet consists of six bulkers and 11 containerships valued at some $519m.
