Car carrier price fixing probe launched in Brazil

Brazilian authorities are investigating nine car carrier firms over price fixing. CSAV, Eukor, Grimaldi, Hoegh Autoliners, K Line, MOL, NYK, Nissan Motor Car Carriers and Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics are all being investigated.

Officials say they have “robust evidence” that these lines have colluded to fix prices. Many of these lines have fallen foul of similar investigations in different jurisdictions across the world.

The investigations suggest the practice dates back to 1978 and lasted through to 2012.
