CDB Leasing acquires LNG carrier from CMB Leasing

CDB Leasing, the financial leasing arm of China Development Bank, has entered into an agreement with CMB International Leasing, a unit of China Merchants Bank, to acquire an LNG carrier.

The price of the vessel is $154.49m and other details of the contract were not disclosed.

CDB Leasing believes the deal will increase the company’s market share in the LNG market and is consistent with its business development strategy.

CDB Leasing has been actively expanding its fleet recently, having bought two boxships from ICBC leasing and another two boxships from SinoOceanic in November, and also ordered eight ultramax bulkers at New Dayang Shipbuilding.
