CDB Leasing takes over two boxships from ICBC Leasing

CDB Leasing, the financial leasing unit of China Development Bank, has entered into agreements with two single vessel companies of ICBC Leasing – Hai Kuo Shipping 1307 and Hai Kuo Shipping 1308, for two 9,400 teu containerships.

Under the agreement, CDB Leasing will acquire 2016-built ships MSC Michela and MSC Clea from ICBC Leasing for $79.82m and $79.61m respectively and charter them to the ship operator MSC.

CDB Leasing will charter MSC Michela back for 14 years and MSC Clea for 13 years and 10 months.

CDB Leasing mainly owns bulker assets with a fleet of 61 vessels made up 54 bulkers, three containerships, one tanker and two LNG carriers.
