CDB Leasing takes three HNA bulkers

Bulker sales are picking up in tandem with rising freight rates with the Chinese proving especially aggressive.

This week three ships listed owned by troubled HNA Group from Shanghai but now under the control of an unidentified Korean financier have found new owners.

The three 2015-built ships are the 79,489 dwt Zhen Bang, the 81,458 dwt FH Fang Cheng and the 79,489 dwt FH Ri Zhao. The ships are reported sold for a total of $45m to China’s CDB Leasing.

The vessels have been circulated for sale for months together with the the 176,000 dwt Bulk Success, a ship that is now en route to Rizhao and is available for inspection.
