Celsius returns to Samsung Heavy for more LNG carriers

Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) has won a $370m order from Copenhagen-based Celsius Tankers, part of Celsius Shipping, to build two 180,000 cu m LNG carriers for delivery by August 2021.

In August last year, Celsius ordered its first ever LNG carriers, also at SHI. The order at the time was for two firm ships with two options.

All the vessels for Celsius Tankers will be equipped with SHI’s environmental and fuel-saving technologies such as an air lubrication system, known as SAVER Air, and Intelliman Ship.
