French seismic operator CGG has won a major contract with Pemex to deliver solutions to optimize subsalt seismic imaging from the deep waters of the Perdido area, offshore Mexico.
A new survey will commence early 2017, over a 10,000 square km area, and acquired perpendicularly over existing data from 2010.
“CGG is proud to have been selected to conduct Mexico’s first offshore orthogonal wide-azimuth program to address the significant imaging challenges relating to the presence of complex geology and salt structures in the deepwater Perdido area,” commented Jean-Georges Malcor, CEO of CGG.
