CH Offshore goes legal on Venezuelan firms
Singapore: Offshore service provider CH Offshore has commenced legal proceedings in London against PDV Marina S.A. and Astilleros De Venezuela C.A. over outstanding charter fees of around $56 million for the charter of the vessels “Amethyst” and “Turquoise”.
PDV Marina has made payment of $70 million to the court as security to have the vessels released since CH Offshore had the vessels arrested.
Proceedings are expected to take up to a year, and are being effected through the Hague Convention, to which both Venezuela and England are signatories. [14/10/13]
