Chellsea exercises PSV options

Singapore: Singapore OSV operator Chellsea is expanding its fleet. Cosco Shipyard announced it has been awarded four options by a Singapore-based company for the construction of four platform supply vessels with total contract value of about $120m.

The vessels are scheduled for delivery from the second quarter of 2016 to the first quarter of 2017. The shipowner has also secured options for two additional vessels of the same type.

Speaking to SeaShip News Gautam Chelleram, the head of Chellsea, said of the contract: “Pleased to say this is us.”

It follows on from an order last summer with the same Chinese shipbuilding group for four high spec PSVs.

Part of the Kishinchand Chellaram (KC Group) of shipping companies, Chellsea was set up three years ago as part of the group’s strategic diversification.  [27/05/14]
