Chengxi Shipyard secures floating dry dock order

Hawaii-based Pacific Shipyards International has signed a contract with CSSC-affiliated Chengxi Shipyard for the construction of a 7,500LT floating dry dock.

The dry dock, to be classified by ABS, will be used for ship repair operations upon delivery in 2017.

CSSC is now facing operational difficulties at some of its affiliate yards including Chengxi Shipyard and Waigaoqiao Shiyard amid the slump in the shipbuilding market. CSSC is looking to strengthen its ship repair and conversion business at the two yards in order to deal with the crisis.
