China Cosco Shipping to establish Yangtze River headquarters in Wuhan

China Cosco Shipping has signed a strategic agreement with Wuhan government for a series of shipping and logistics collaborations.

Under the agreement, China Cosco Shipping plans to set up its Yangtze River headquarters in Wuhan to develop river to ocean shipping routes, automobile shipping and intermodal logistics.

According to Xu Lirong, chairman of China Cosco Shipping, the company will use Wuhan’s strategic location to develop a comprehensive logistics hub on the Yangtze River, which will facilitate a wider range of cooperation in the region.

Wuhan Port is a major port on Yangtze River, having completed a cargo throughput of 90m tons in the year of 2016.
