China Cosco signs auto shipping partnership with Chery

China Cosco Shipping has announced the signing of a strategic partnership agreement with domestic automaker Chery.

Under the agreement, China Cosco Shipping will become the automobile transport partner of Chery and the two parties will jointly develop innovative automobile logistics solutions.

Since the completion of the merger between China Shipping and Cosco, China Cosco Shipping has been making efforts to expand its automobile shipping business. In January and February, it signed partnership agreements with Chinese automakers BAIC and FAW.

Cosco Shipping Specialized Carriers, formerly Cosco Shipping, currently operates six pure car carriers. It also has car shipping joint venture NYKCOS with Japan’s Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK).
