China Merchants takes control of Liaoning’s ports

The consolidation across China’s ports scene continues with news China Merchants will merge three ports in Liaoning province, in the northeast of the country. Dalian, Yingkou and Jinzhou ports will now all fall under a unified port operating platform led by China Merchants to be called Liaoning Port Group. Full integration should be completed by the end of next year.

Other provinces have formed similar port mergers in recent months to make better use of the country’s abundant port resources.
