China Shipping Group starts internal management investigations

Shanghai: China Shipping Group has started an internal discipline investigation on the group’s 1344 management personnel.

The group said in a notice that it has started investigations and strengthened supervision on the activities of high-level managers of the group who start personal businesses and will expel those who break the rules.

The group also requested the managers to submit reports on shipping-related companies opened by their relatives. It clearly forbidden for those companies to have any business involvement with the group.

Meng Qinglin, former general manager of Cosco Dalian, was arrested for corruption last year. Meng was using resources at Cosco Dalian to benefit his own shipping business. [22/07/14]
