Chinese firm eyes Malaysia oil and gas market

Kuala Lumpur: Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding & Offshore, a wholly owned subsidiary of Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding,is eyeing to tap into Malaysia’s oil and gas industry.

The company has been talking to Malaysian companies in the sector, which include state run energy firm Petroliam Nasional Bhd, hoping to secure a deal by next year, revealed by Zhou Qi, deputy general manager of Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding & Offshore.

"Malaysia has been an active investor in the offshore oil and gas business in recent years, we want to work with quality companies here in the sector," Zhou Qi said. [27/11/13]
