Chinese firm gets nod to build Ashdod port
Beijing: The Beijing-based company China Harbor Engineering Company (CHEC) is to build a private port at Ashdod in Israel.
The $3.3bn project is scheduled to begin by the end of the year, and will take up to eight years to finish.
The private port plans promoted by Tel Aviv have caused a serious backlash among the workers of the nation’s state run terminals. [22/09/14]
