Chinese repair yard to enter Brazil market

One of China’s best known ship repair yards is to enter the Brazil market. Zhoushan IMC-Yongyue Shipyard and Engineering will partner with Brasil Basin Drydock Company (BBDC), a joint venture between McQuilling and Promon Engenharia, to participate in Empresa de Docagens Pedra do Ingá (EDPI). The new facility is set to become the largest repair yard in northeast Brazil located in the state of Paraíba.

The Tsao family controlled IMC, a famous name in Singapore shipping circles, is one of the partners behind Zhoushan IMC-Yongyue Shipyard and Engineering.
