Shanghai: CSIC-affiliated Chongqing Chuandong Shipbuilding has signed a strategic agreement with Qidong Fengshun Ship Heavy Industry on the development of a new shipbuilding base in Qidong, Jiangsu.
Both Chuandong and Fengshun specialise in building chemical tankers and Chuandong is one of the leading shipyards building small-medium chemical tankers.
Chuandong Shipbuilding said the new base will expand its shipbuilding capacity and meet the market demand for building larger ships.
Fengshun Ship Heavy Industry had also joined forces with Sinopacific Offshore in May for the establishment of a new Sinopacific offshore base. [11/07/14]
