CIMC Raffles snaffles jack-up contract

Dalian: Chinese offshore leader CIMC Raffles has won an order from Thaumas Marine, a subsidiary of Malaysia’s Coastal Contracts, to build a gas compression jack-up, based on CIMC’s Taisun 200B design.

The rig will deliver next year and will go to the Gulf of Mexico on charter to Pemex. The charter is for an initial eight years with an extension option for another 12 years.

The jackup can operate at a water depth up to 55 m, and is capable to process gas up to 200m cu ft per day.  [11/03/14]
