Clarksons taps Lints to lead US offshore wind growth

Clarksons’ offshore and renewables unit has appointed Jonathan Lints to head up its US offshore operations as the shipbroking giant looks to strengthen its presence in the country’s wind market.

Working on European offshore wind farm projects for more than 15 years, Lints will focus on attracting more investments in the development of offshore wind vessels in the US market and support the expansion of the sector.

“I look forward to applying my experience of working on the construction of multiple North Sea wind farm projects to the opportunity before us in the US. I am very fortunate to be joining an exceptionally strong, established team stateside. Their extensive knowledge of the Jones Act and other US regulatory framework is already proving extremely valuable for our clients,” said Lints.

Clarksons has been active in the US offshore energy space for more than 50 years and has so far supported three service operation vessel (SOV) awards, with a combined chartering period of 27 years.
