Claxton reveals new gig at Magsaysay Transport and Logistics Group

Shipping veteran Ian Claxton has taken up the role of president and CEO at Magsaysay Transport and Logistics Group (MTLG) in the Philippines.

MTLG, a significant holding of Doris Ho led A. Magsaysay Inc, is a containership and tanker owner/operator with 40 vessels in total. The company is involved in domestic full-container liner shipping, 3rd-party logistics, tankering and petroleum barging, and offers a wide range of services.

Claxton left Thailand’s Thoresen Thai Agencies on July 31 having earlier this year shifted from his role of managing director of Thoresen Shipping, the dry bulk shipping arm of Bangkok-listed TTA, to take on the ceo role at TTA affiliate Unique Mining Services.

“I’m really excited to be a part of the Magsaysay Group and to be back into my core competency and roots of not only shipping but in particular container shipping,” Claxton told Splash.

Claxton’s role gives him overall responsibility strategic development, implementation, financial performance and operational excellence of MTLG who’s major international customers include Shell, Nestle, and Coca Cola.
