Clearlake extends timecharters of Diana Shipping bulkers

Athens: Gunvor’s subsidiary Clearlake Shipping (Singapore) has extended the timecharters of two dry bulk carriers chartered from Greece’s Diana Shipping in deals worth a combined $6.47m.

The timecharter period for MV Myrsini (82,117 dwt, built 2010), a Kamsarmax vessel, was extended by between 10 to 14 months, commencing February 15. The gross charter rate is $8,250/day, minus 4.75% in third-party commission, Diana said today in a statement.

A Capesize vessel, Norfolk (164,218 dwt, built 2002), had its timecharter period extended by between 13 and 17 months, commencing February 26. Diana said the gross rate was $10,250/day, minus 4.75% commission.

New York-listed Diana Shipping currently owns a fleet of 40 dry bulk vessels. The company expects to take delivery of two Newcastlemax one Kamsarmax newbuildings during the second quarter of 2016.
