Clipper’s Gary Vogel appointed CEO of Eagle Bulk

New York: Less than a week after it was announced that Gary Vogel was stepping down from Clipper Group, Eagle Bulk have announced the appointment of Vogel as their company CEO.

Vogel had been the co-CEO of Clipper Group together with Kristian Morch, who announced his resignation from Clipper in May 2015, leaving Vogel in charge 4,000 miles away from the company headquarters in Copenhagen.

In his new role at Eagle Bulk, beginning September 1, Vogel will succeeds Stanley H. Ryan, who took up the role in March from his position on the board replacing Sophocles N. Zoullas, who had resigned in February. Ryan will revert to his previous role as an independent director.

The New York headquartered company operates a fleet of 44 supramax dry bulk vessels.

Grant Rowles

Grant spent nine years at Informa Group based in London, Sydney, Hong Kong and Singapore. He gained strong management experience in publishing, conferences and awards schemes in the shipping and legal areas, working on a number of titles including Lloyd's List. In 2009 Grant joined Seatrade responsible for the commercial development of Seatrade’s Asia products. In 2012, with Sam Chambers, he co-founded Asia Shipping Media.
