CMA CGM moves for another feeder

In its latest weekly report online pricing portal VesselsValue lists French container shipping giant CMA CGM as moving for another feeder vessel.

CMA CGM is spending $4m for the 15-year-old 1,118 teu Victoria Strait, a deal the portal believes is a good one for the Marseille-headquartered line as the ship is valued by VesselsValue at $4.91m despite the fact that it is due to head in for a drydocking soon.

CMA CGM has been scouring for feeder tonnage a great deal in recent months taking on a number of smaller ships as it builds up its regional trades.

In its weekly report, the British ship valuation experts discussed the changing prices for larger and smaller boxships noting a slight softening in panamax and post panamax tonnage with firming in modern handy tonnage.
