CMA CGM takes over OPDR
Marseille: France’s CMA CGM has got the go ahead from the European Commission to take over OPDR. The short sea operator has now joined the French containerline. ODPR, an intra-European player, was with the Bernhard Schulte Group. “OPDR and MacAndrews capacities combination are in line with the densification of the regional network strategy of the CMA CGM Group,” The Marseille-headquartered firm said in a release today.
MacAndrews was acquired by CMA CGM in 2002. OPDR will be a subsidiary of MacAndrews. In 2014, OPDR transported around 200,000 teu, and MacAndrews more than 230,000 teu.
