CNOOC and China Shipping ink LNG shipmanagement contract

Shanghai: CNOOC Energy Development, a subsidiary of state-run energy giant CNOOC, has signed a shipmanagement contract with China Shipping LNG Shipmanagement, a subsidiary of China Shipping Interntional Shipmanagement, for the management of a 30,000 cu m LNG carrier Hai Yang Shi You 301 that is nearing completion at Shanghai’s Jiangnan shipyard. The Hai Yang Shi You 301 is the first LNG ship built by Jiangnan. It has been undergoing sea trials recently with delivery set for this month.

China Shipping Interntional Shipmanagement established the LNG shipmanagement subsidiary in the Shanghai Free Trade Zone in April 2014.

China Shipping Group said the its 2014 annual general meeting that it sees LNG shipping as a key future strategy of the group and will make effort to improve the management level of LNG newbuild project, LNG shipping and LNG ship crew.
