CNOOC in negotiations for 14 more LNG vessels

Shanghai: In order to meet the future demand for LNG transportation, CNOOC, one of the largest energy companies in China, plans to place orders for 14 medium and small sized LNG vessels, something first reported in SinoShip’s LNG White Paper, published in June this year.

CNOOC plans to order four 30,000 cu m LNG vessels and ten 10,000 cu m vessels and will choose from several medium-sized shipyards in China including Sinopacific Shipbuilding and AVIC Dingheng Shipbuilding to construct the vessels

“Currently we are in preliminary negotiations and there is still no progress yet,” an official from AVIC Dingheng told SinoShip News. [30/11/12]
