CNOOC to build LNG terminal in Wuhu

Beijing: CNOOC Gas and Power Group, a wholly-owned subsidiary of CNOOC, has signed a cooperation agreement with Huainan Mining Industry Group to jointly develop a LNG terminal project in Wuhu, Anhui province.

The two parties will jointly build an LNG receiving station and related facilities, with the final annual capacity of the project to reach 3 million tons in 2030.

The first phase of the project is scheduled to be put into trial operation in 2017, and have an annual capacity of 1m tons. The second and the third phases are due for initial operation in 2020 and 2030 respectively.

The port of Wuhu is a major energy transport hub along Yangtze river.
