CNOOC’s new Bohai discovery

Beijing: China’s largest offshore engineering company, CNOOC, announced that the company made a mid-to-large new discovery – Jinzhou 23-2 – in Bohai Bay.

Jinzhou 23-2’s average water depth is 10 m. A well has been drilled and completed at a depth of 1,097 m and encountered oil and gas pay zones with a total thickness of 68.4 m.

Last week, the company announced a large-sized deepwater gas discovery offshore Gabon in West Africa. [27/10/14]
