Cochin Shipyard to develop new ship repair facility

India’s Cochin Shipyard has entered into an MoU with Andaman & Nicobar Administration for the development of a new ship repair facility on the Andaman and Nicobar Islands in India.

Under the MoU, Cochin Shipyard will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of the marine drydock at Port Blair, and Cochin Shipyard will assist the administration in setting up of ship repair eco-system at A&N islands and provide skill development & training schemes.

The Andaman and Nicobar Islands, one of the seven union territories of India, are a group of islands at the juncture of the Bay of Bengal and Andaman Sea.
