Containerships adds two more LNG-powered boxships at Huangpu Wenchong

Finnish shipowner Containerships has signed a preliminary agreement with China’s CSSC-affiliated Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding for the construction of an additional two 1,400 teu LNG-powered containerships.

Containerships currently has four boxships of the same type under construction at the yard. The first two ships will be delivered this year and the other two are scheduled for delivery in the first quarter of 2019.

Containerships was acquired by French container shipping giant CMA CGM in June this year. The company currently owns a fleet of 15 vessels.
