Shanghai: The bankrupt US division of Denmark’s OW Bunker has filed a suit against the boxship Cosco Piraeus in New Jersey’s Southern District.
The case revolves around Chimbusco Americas, an American bunkering joint venture of Cosco’s, purchase of $938,000 of fuel for the Cosco Piraeus last year, a sum that has yet to be paid, according to OW Bunker USA. The case continues.
Cosco becomes the latest line to be embroiled in court cases following the demise of OW Bunker last November. Taiwan’s Yang Ming is also fighting a court case in the US over unpaid bunker bills. [09/01/15]
