Cosco Shipping Specialized Carriers signs COA with JGC Corporation

Cosco Shipping Specialized Carriers, the specialised vessel unit of China Cosco Shipping, has signed a strategic agreement with Japanese engineering major JGC Corporation to deepen collaborations in heavy lift shipping.

Under the agreement, Cosco will be a transport partner of JGC to the support the latter’s EPC projects globally. Additionally, Cosco signed a COA contract with JGC to transport heavy equipment for the company’s EPC project at Hassi R’Mel gas field offshore Algeria. The contract will commence at the end of 2017 and last for one year.

Cosco Shipping Specialized Carriers currently operates a fleet of 28 vessels including heavy lift vessels, multi purpose vessels and car carriers. The company ordered three pulp carriers at Cosco Dalian Shipyard at the end of August to expand into the pulp shipping business.
