Cosco shipyards secure multiple contracts

 

Singapore: Cosco Corporation (Singapore) announced yesterday that Cosco Dalian Shipyard has secured a contract from an Asian company to build a 22,000dwt oil tanker. The tanker is scheduled for delivery in the fourth quarter of 2014.

Separately, Cosco Zhoushan Shipyard has secured a contract from a European company to build a stinger barge. The barge is scheduled for delivery in the first quarter of 2014. The total value for the two contracts is over $36m.

In the meantime, four shipbuilding contracts signed by Cosco Zhoushan with a European shipowner for the construction of four 111,000dwt tankers have been made effective at a value of over $180m in total. [10/07/13]
