COSCO to order 9 vessels

Beijing: COSCO announced today that the board has approved a fully controlled subsidiary to order four 64,000 dwt handysize bulkers and five 9,400 teu containerships.

COSCO said the move is to optimize the company’s capacity structure of bulk carriers and containerships and improve the fleet’s competitiveness. The details will be revealed when the shipbuilding contracts are signed. [24/12/13]
