COSL Drilling wins Maersk Oil contract

Shanghai: COSL Drilling Europe, the Nowegian subsidiary of China Oilfield Services Limited (COSL), has secured a contract from Maersk Oil for the charter of its accommodation rig COSL Rigmar.

The rig had been stacked at Norwegian yard Kvina Verft since May, and will now be deployed offshore Denmark from September 10, 2015 to March 31, 2016.

“It is an important contract for COSL, and it ensures that the rig, which was laid up in May, is taken into operation again quickly,” said Jørgen Arnesen, president of COSL Drilling Europe.

The rig will be located at the Tyra East field for Maersk Oil and have a staff of 17 people onboard.
