COSL plans to add three more deepwater drilling platforms

Beijing: China Oilfield Services Limited (COSL) is preparing to expand its deepwater drilling platform fleet, planning to buy a second-hand drilling platform and build two new submersible drilling platforms.

Currently, the company is negotiating with American company Transocean to buy a drilling platform, which is located at Malaysia at present.

The company has suggested to its mother company CNOOC to build another two new drillers which could work as deep as 1,500 meters and 700 meters.  [19/07/12]
