Crewing firms sign up for scholarship programme

Manila: Forty-eight crewing firms have recently signed a memorandum of agreement with the John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University (JBLFMU) in Iloilo City, in the centre of the Philippines, to continue their scholarship programs.

The companies will pay for the tuition and miscellaneous expenses of qualified incoming first year college students taking the Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation and Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering courses at the campuses of JBLFMU in Arevalo, Molo, and Bacolod. After their schooling, the students will be employed by these companies.  [04/02/14]
