Crowley buys out Accord

Hong Kong: Crowley Maritime from the US is taking over Accord Ship Management. Accord, which is dual headquartered in Hong Kong and Mumbai, will be renamed Crowley Accord.

Technical and crew management company Accord Ship Management has been in existence since 1992. Accord currently manages over 20 vessels, with offices in Hong Kong, in Mumbai and Goa, and in the Netherlands.

Nepa Projects of Hong Kong has been involved with the management of the company since 2010.

Crowley USA has joined the management of Accord. The company will be rebranding the technical and crew management services as Crowley Accord.

“The move also makes Crowley a rare US company – one that provides third-party international crewing and technical ship management,” the pair said in a release. The combined fleet size of third party ship management activities goes to over 60 vessels of various sizes and types.

Accord's managing director Sanjay Shesh said, "Crowley stepping into the management of Accord is a great step forward for Accord. The spotless image and pure charisma of Crowley will propel Accord to a higher plane where economical solutions will be available to our existing and new clients with greater brand value and higher standards of committed service."  [08/04/14]
