Cruise figures climb in the Philippines

Manila: The Philippines has seen cruise calls jump this year and is confident of a strong 2013. Full figures for 2012 will be made available soon.

Among the highlights this year was RCCL’s Legend of the Seas which called at both Manila and Boracay with around 2,500 passengers. The Department of Tourism and the Philippine Ports Authority are partnering to boost cruise facilities across the country in places such as Davao, Bohol, Cebu, Puerto Princessa, Subic Bay and Zamboanga as international cruise lines continue to place greater emphasis on southeast Asian trips.  [14/12/12]
