Shanghai: Chongqing Century Cruise has inked a contract with Xiamen Shipbuilding Industry to jointly construct an ocean-going luxury cruise ship.
Chongqing Century Cruise will be in charge of the concept design of the cruise ship. Peng Jianhu, chairman of the company, said, “As the only listed domestic cruise company, the partner believes in our ability to integrate international design and the talents of cruiseship building.”
The cruiseship will be able to carry at least 2,000 passengers and will cost at least RMB1bn. The design phase will take two years before construction can start. [08/11/13]
