Bangkok: The continued unrest in Bangkok has forced Crystal Cruises to cancel port stops in the Thai capital for this year and early 2015.
In March, Crystal Serenity and Crystal Symphony will visit Sihanoukville, Cambodia and Koh Samui, and add additional nights in Ho Chi Minh City instead of Bangkok. A mid-March cruise on Serenity will start its pre-cruise program in Singapore instead of Bangkok.
Southeast Asia cruises scheduled through mid-January 2015 embarking in Bangkok will now depart Singapore instead.
Crystal Cruises is the first cruiseline to nix Bangkok from its itinerary, but many other leading lines have the Thai capital on their routes and are expected to follow suit. [05/02/14]
