CSC Phoenix sends bulker and barge to scrap

Chinese domestic dry bulk shipping operator CSC Phoenix has announced that it has sold a 44,500dwt bulk carrier Chang Hang Yun Hai and a barge for scrap.

The 33-year-old bulker and the barge were sold to ship scrapping company Jiangsu Changrong Steel for RMB11.2m ($1.64m) in total.

CSC Phoenix is currently under a potential ownership transition process, however the company said the deal is in doubt following a dispute between Tianjin Shunhang Shipping, the controlling shareholder of the company, and the proposed buyer Guangzhou Wenhua Furui.
