CSCL announces Europe peak season surcharge

Hong Kong: China Shipping Container Lines has followed OOCL’s lead by announcing a $700 per teu peak season surcharge on the Asia to Europe and Mediterranean westbound cargo tradelane from March 15.

The company cited the "current market situation" in a general notice to trade.

OOCL announced an identical rate rise a week ago, slightly less than other recently announced rate hikes on the same route, Hapag-Lloyd pitching a $750 increase and Cosco asking for $775 more.  [15/02/13]
