CSCL changes direction, to be named Cosco Shipping Development

China Shipping Container Lines (CSCL) has announced that the board has proposed to change the company’s name to Cosco Shipping Development, which has been pre-approved by the State Administration of Industry and Commerce.

CSCL said it is expected to transform from a container line operator into an integrated financial services platform with leasing businesses including vessel leasing, container leasing and non-shipping leasing, and the new name will be consistent with company’s future strategic positioning, and identity as a group member of China Cosco Shipping Corporation.
