CSCL’s marked improvement in on time calls

Copenhagen: SeaIntel’s recent report on the reliability of container calls for 2012 shows that among all Greater China lines Yang Ming ranked top, coming in in fifth spot across the world. Coscon was eighth. China Shipping Container Lines (CSCL) ranked 18th, however SeaIntel’s ceo Lars Jensen told SinoShip News that CSCL’s performance last year showed the second highest level of improvement in reliability after MSC. Jensen noted how most lines had upped their game in terms of reliability.

“If this development continues in 2013,” Jensen said, “the difference in reliability across carriers will continue to narrow – which is to the advantage of the shippers. However it will in the long-term result in a challenge for some of the carriers, as reliability will over time become less of a differentiator – and thus further fuel the commoditisation of the industry.”  [13/02/13]
