CSIC official under criminal investigation

The Shanghai Commission for Discipline Inspection has launched investigations into Zhou Fengxiang, president of East China region at China Shipbuilding Industry Equipment and Materials Company (CSEMC), the major procurement and material supply unit of China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (CSIC), for alleged criminal activities.

Zhou is being investigated for alleged involvement in a series of corruption activities.

Zhou started its career at Jiangnan Shipyard in the late 80s, and have served various positions in both CSSC and CSIC.

This month, former general manager of CSIC, Sun Bo, was sentenced to prison for 12 years for corruption activities.
