CSSC and MES to strengthen cooperation in LNG and offshore

Beijing: China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC) and Japan’s Mitsui Engineering & Shipbuilding (MES) will work together to strengthen cooperation in marine propulsion, LNG and offshore. The two companies have reached an agreement during the Japanese shipbuilder’s president Takao Tanaka’s recent visit to CSSC.

“CSSC and MES’s cooperation on marine propulsion has already gained brilliant progress, the next step for the two companies is to jointly develop the LNG and offshore business,” said Hu Wenming, president of CSSC, adding that CSSC hopes to get support from MES on technology and management. CSSC and Mitsui already have an engine joint venture in Shanghai.

Tanaka also suggested the management of the two companies should establish a regular meeting mechanism to strengthen communications and accelerate cooperation between the two companies. [22/05/14]
