CSSC delivers two of the largest China-built VLGCs to Frontline

Shanghai: Two 83,000-m³ VLGCs, some of the largest gas carriers ever built in China, were delivered on Tuesday to Frontline from CCSC’s Shanghai Jiangnan Changxing shipyard.

The two vessels were designed by Jiangnan Shipbuilding, also part of CSSC, and are the first of a four-VLGC order placed in 2012 by Seatankers Group, the investment arm of John Fredriksen-led Frontline Group.

The VLGCs both have a length overall (LOA) of 226 m, breadth of 36.6 m, depth of 22.2 m and draft of 11.4 m.

The vessels have been designed with two sets of cargo manifolds, so the vessels can handle two different liquefied gas cargoes at the same time. [16/01/15]
