Cyprus Maritime acquires panamax boxship from Cleaves

Greek owner Cyprus Maritime has acquired a 5,042 teu panamax containership Nansen Strait from Cleaves Marine Finance of Norway, according to Alphaliner. The 11-year-old vessel is reported to be sold for $7.5m.

The Nansen Strait has been renamed to CSL Santa Maria and will be traded on the charter market.

In May, Cyprus Maritime also acquired 4,800teu Buffalo Hunter from Belgian owner CMB Group and renamed the vessel CSL Sophie.

Cyprus Maritime currently operates a fleet of 30 vessels, made up of 23 bulkers and 7 containerships.
